Thanks Spleen. Hit the nail on the head - I thought the real time battles were a distraction from the game Might give it a whirl....have to wait for payday though.

Motorsport Manager is a highly addictive mobile game that also drains your battery onto the floor

Yeah Future Fight is much the same. Got to the point I assumed my battery was a bit knackered but a new one makes no difference. Odd how some games are fine and others are like vampires.

It's probably down to how hard each game is making the processor work. Efficiency is good in coding, especially when you're on smaller machines.

"Efficiency is good in coding, especially when you're on smaller machines." of course I bow at the altar of coders such as Matthew Smith (Manic Miner). 48k - you couldn't get a Notepad file that small quite often, to pack 20 levels in. In fact other coders such as Jeff Minter, Andrew Braybrook - how the hell did they do it? Manic miner is taught on degree level courses I see as a great example of code efficiency: theguardian.com

I remember seeing this screen as a kid. c64-wiki.com It's quite amazing that we *ever* played any games on it. These days it can all get very flabby. |

I remember the C64, that was my machine, that looks like a VIC-20 screen right? Less than 5kb. We are spoiled these days.

Yeah, that was a Vic 20. In our house we renamed it the Sick 20, after I threw up all over it one night I wrote my first programs on that (before I was sick on it).

Explaining to my children that the keyboard was the WHOLE computer was quite funny... My youngest loves retro games thinks they destroy modern day ones, and anything that looks or sounds remotely 8-bit is cool in his books.
