That belongs in the heroic failures thread, CW :)

We have a couple of fast tarmac courses up here between Scenic Nowhere and the Irish Sea.

CW, Peterborough and Kings Lynn are very fast parkruns.

FR, three years ago I was hitting 67 & 68 regularly, in the past two years I have managed 65 only once but I still believe I can get to 70, I just have to find the right methods. It's been slow work and extremely frustrating but it's maintaining belief that's important.

I could be completely delusional, of course...

I'm sure you'll get back to 70 and make further gains from there, Goofee. I suspect you now have a better idea of how to avoid getting broken by your training.

Goofee, Higginson should be one of the quickest course round here, I still find Woodley fast (but I’ve run there more than anywhere else) so are worth a try if you want to go for a time/%. I still think the quickest around here is Cassiobury. Are you running track at the moment? I think that really helps.

Woodley is my overall parkrun PB course, so I will probably try there once I have my fitness up to where it needs to be. I'm not doing any track currently, but am doing a bit of interval work in my garage :-) I'm having to be careful with speedwork as that seems to cause my fatigue issues to flare-up if I'm not watchful.

I've pored over the fetch training analysis and have arrived at a basic plan for the year, we'll see where it takes me...

Great Denham in / near Bedford is a fast course too I got my PB there beating my Peterborough / Ferry Meadows (is it's new title) time by 17 second just 2 weeks apart and I had a race in the middle of the two as well.

Great running folks and I'm looking forward to reaching the dizzy heights again this year too including committing to a 70% wava............ for a marathon :-o Here's hoping to stay injury free for that.

Good luck with the marathon Fenland Flier, I've put you on the long-term target list for that.

Is Great Denham where Binks, Wine Legs, Silvershadow and Nightjar hang out?

I joined this thread on the back of a 69% parkrun in the last week of 2018, but my best throughout 2019 was 68% (at parkrun and HM). I'll go public on a 70% target again this year, but as a lot of my running here in Devon is in off-road or trail events, it may just be elusive again. Let's find out. Happy New Year, all!

Even though I’ve been going to the local running club intervals, my Wava has got lower.

Hopefully just due to an injury & time out, plus doing more off road stuff.
