sweetie I have chosen not to go OW as it seems silly to drive and pay for 10mins!

So I'm booked in for my 1st swim at a pool tomorrow morning, and bag is packed.
Not sure I'm brave enough for the temperatures at Box End just yet, but will no doubt be making my way over in due course ❤️
Also looking at entering Arun River swim in June (iron distance) to keep the motivation up....

1st swim back done - 1.1k. Only went to do 800m so happy days. A little bit broken up, but mainly due to a slightly crowded lane.
Be booking my next session later today - hopefully there are spaces soon!

Right swimmers! Bit quiet round here.
I did some drills today but didn't get on wuth the snorkel. I think I need nose clips or big diving type over the nose goggles so I'll prob not bother.
My question is about fin use... should I use them for longer, endurancse type swims to keep form or not so I get used to the slog of swimming without them?

I’ve used fins as part of an endurance set. I think it was a 3k set with 500m with fins.

I am thinking more if I go to swim 30min straight, to fin or not to fin? I like fins because it is over faster but that is not going to matter if I am training by time not distance.

What are the advantages of training with fins? I don't kick much when I swim so I've never used them.

I believe they help you keep a better form and position in the water.

They make your lengths/distance go quicker
(They also enable me to do kicking drills without coming to a complete halt and drowning, but I'm not sure they are really helpful in the long term as I still stop and drown as soon as I take them off.)
