Did a 7m trail race today with one of my best friends. She’s only recently completed C25K she did amazing she’s a natural. My pace (as I’ve belated about recently) is way off my normal slow pace ambit together we did amazing managed 77min which i was over the moon with. Hoping to get a run in next week then Vegas on Saturday hope to fit at least one heat soles run in then when I’m back training will commence to try to get my pace back on track.
Loving your training targets D I am now also doing Loch Ness in October be fabulous to meet up for a photo at the start!! Good luck with the training.
How’d you get on with the docs Pen?

A very tough 10k this morning in Wytham Woods. It was a big challenging run, very hilly for me, but I imagine that Geordie Girl would have scampered around as if they were gentle undulations! I finished in a time of 1hr 04:55, but I hadn’t expected to get in under the hour. It is a beautiful course though with stunning views and scenery, and a “race” that I will certainly do again. The proceeds go to the local primary school and it’s nice to support local organisations.

The Scribbler
I'm really pleased I got ahead with my miles in the build up to my first half marathon in May. Running mileage has really dropped off the last couple of weeks, partly through being ready for a break, but now the weather isn't very encouraging and I haven't run since Sunday. Planning to parkrun and then long run something around 7 miles ish this weekend to get back on track

That sounds like a good plan Scribbler. Sometimes a break is good.
My mileage has dropped off a cliff at the moment!

Been hectic at work this work because of all the rain and not been able to run and looking busy this weekend. Should be alright next week to get the mileage going again.

First parkrun and longest run for a few weeks this morning. Managed 39 minutes (with the tail walkers) and am now completely shattered.
Very pleased though to finish in 17th place and 2nd lady (out of 2 ) Don’t think I’ll ever get a result like that again!

Well done Pen. You can only compete against those that turn up, and if no other ladies did, then your second place is well deserved. I was first in my age cat this morning, and I’m trying to ignore the fact that there were people in older categories that finished before me 😀

Just read my goal in the Race Planner - "To remain healthy..." Having missed two months of running through a chest infection and subsequent recovery time, I'm only just ready to start again tomorrow morning. At least I have enough time to prepare for the Chelmsford Marathon in October.

I feel I cheated slightly ER by running a closed invite only parkrun which stacked the odds somewhat in my favour I was the first and only in my age group. It also helped that there were only 19 runners.
An amazing experience though.

Second is still second, Pen, so well done!
Back from my first run in two months and struggled to muster 4.2 miles. Felt OK in the early stages and decided to push myself further instead of settling for a shorter 3.4 mile route. Must confess that I did walk about 100 yards in the final mile.
Will look to consolidate that distance next weekend before adding any more mileage.
