Ah that issue with baking and eating the fruits of your labour.... same reason I don’t make cakes and scones.
It must be so hard for you Red it’s hard enough here at times and I’m allowed out.
I have crept back into the ❤️ zone, the consistency and longer runs is paying off. Today I did a hill challenge for running club. I ran 7.25m and climbed 106)ft !!
I am going to give myself a quieter week as I have been feeling tired the last couple of days and my Garmin tells me my training is good for building fitness but sleep and stress is knocking me off course.

Well done on getting back into the ❤️ zone GG 👏
I’ve resolved the issue of eating the fruits of my labour, but not the fruits of my wife’s labour. There is often Cornish Heavy Cake or a light fruit cake in the tin.
We went out for a drive around the countryside yesterday which lifted us both a lot. We considered that going from one bubble into another bubble was not a risk, and we’ll probably do that weekly.
I hope that your sleep and stress levels improve. I don’t know if you still follow the Coronavirus thread GG, but by not reading it any more has improved my stress (and anger) considerably!

I’ve been on a lot less Red I think I was over exposing myself to other people’s worries, concerns and opinions.
Gutted as it’s impacted my VO2 max it says my training level and intensity is right to improve fitness but sleep & stress is impacting it. I have felt more tired lately so I’m listening to my body (with Garmin slick)
How lovely you got out for a drive my parents did the same and I know it helped them too just to see different space as they can get out for walks. And yes it’s low risk and good for your mental health. TC x

The Scribbler
Been out for a lovely 10k this morning. Still opting to get out early as I think we may get an influx of visitors to the beach this weekend which will make the pavements a bit more crowded. Noticeably more traffic on the roads over the past couple of days and the beach car parks are already busy although a lot of the spaces are taken by surfers, who must have just been desperate to catch some waves.
All my running is very easy effort at the moment, and I've drifted down to two runs a week, so I'm going to sign up for another round of Project Joker on Monday I think to try and make myself do a bit of speedwork.

Surrey Phil
An odd morning of running which started with 2.5 mile hilly run to deliver a congrats card to a friend of ours who has qualified as a doctor.
As my daughter woke up much earlier than expected, I had to return home and did a further six miles in the garden. Not as dull as I had expected strangely for 230-240 laps but very slow due to the u-turns.

Snufkin
I started back running a month ago, as confinement was getting more relaxed so i could have an hour for the kids, plus an hour for running. Forests re-opened a couple of weeks ago, and there's no time or distance limit. And yet, last week, though it was fab to be running on paths and by the river instead of street loops (1km of home), I went too far, it was too hot, and a bit of a let down. Yesterday was brilliant. Set out with no expectations, kids all occupied, and started slowly so did 12km easily and loved it. Through the trees, botanical gardens, round the reservoir. Birds, woodpeckers, not too many people. Fresh and cool just after a downpour. Even sweeter after the previous week.

Oh my word Phil I admire you running 6m in your garden. I couldn’t imagine that one!
Snufkin we all have runs that are rubbish and it makes it good ones all the more amazing and uplifting. Well done both
Scribbler great effort on Project Joker I keep signing up to it then not doing it. Maybe I should make a commitment to it.
My running is going well - consistency is making a difference. Up to 76m for the month the most for a long time and when you think last year I ran 4 marathons and 1 ultra it’s unreal how little mileage I actually did.

Buzzing Geordie here I ran a 5k this morning I’ve been trying to increase my pace, I’m hopeless at sticking to Project Joker but I’ve tried to mix my runs up a bit.
Today I did a 28.40 5k fairly flat (for round here) and I’m over the moon last week same route was 30.13 my all time best 5k was 28.27 back in 2012.
Got a fastest mile alert on the Garmin at 8.42 I don’t recall what previous fastest was as I’ve not got any way of checking (that I’m aware of) anyway so happy with myself the work is paying off.

GG, that really is brilliant! You seem to be running very well at the moment. Do you attribute this to the special training you had when you were running upside in 'Strylia?
