Well I was going well until I did a 50 miler 6 weeks ago! Had planned a couple of weeks recovery then one more cycle of building mileage but have struggled to get back since. Think I'll still give it a shot... managed 95 last year.

Was targeting 80, (well, maybe was secretly hoping for the big 100) so I was pleased.

It’s Saturday, nearly 9 am, must mean it’s time for… the monthly stats summary for the 2000 thread! What do you mean you’re all off to the park? In running gear? What’s that all about?

Lets get down to it :

We now have 39 runners (40 last month) with a declared target of 2000 miles for 2019.

Of these 39 runners, 23 are on or above target as of this morning, so 59% - very comparable with last months 60%

If we keep the same measures as last month I.e. +20%, -20% and in-between, we get the following numbers :

12 (31%), 9 (23%), and 18 (46%) (c.f. April’s 32.5%, 20%, and 46%)

So an increase for those close to target for the second month, and a slight drop again in those streaking ahead, and also those runners behind target, with a good scattering of grey hearts (meeting monthly target) up and down the table.

A disappointing month for symmetry fans - but don’t worry I’ll be keeping an eye out again next month…

Outliers…. At the end of April we had 2 runners at more than 50% up on target, which has dropped to just…. 0 this month…. Some of those early leaders are certainly having a break with a few grey heart gaps. But, in proof that men can get too much of a good thing, we have 12 runners over 1000 miles already, and they are all boys. Tsck, tsck. One even has the temerity to pass 1200, just before I stopped the clock for this roundup - it’s not a race!
And there are still 2 (5%) more than 50% behind target after the fourth month, I hope the injuries etc. clear soon and you can get back to it.

We had a smattering of target races this month:

chunkywizard Shinfield 10k 6/5 <41:00
chunkywizard Marlow 5 12/5 pb
chunkywizard Binfield 10k 19/5 <41:00
oumaumau Hardmoors 110 (112m) <30 25/5

Well, more accurately chunkywizard had 3, and I had one. In short cw got all of his, and I slept through part of mine and missed by a chunk (blog when I’ve finished writing it :) )

Next month, hopefully, we’ll have a comparable set of numbers, and the result of some more of those target races - Looks like another quiet month for racing, or at least racing with intent…

Well done all, sometimes just getting out the door can be a challenge so good on you for getting that far (and often much further). It's still early days yet, so for those behind target there's no rush, you have 7 months (half of them warmer, with longer days) to catch up. For those streaking ahead, hope you are enjoying it - remember rest/recovery is where the adaption happens. And if you can’t feel some of your toes right now, and lost a layer of skin off your feet in the bath last night, then I know exactly how you feel…..

If you'd like to see any other stats at the end of each month, or even no stats at all, then post about it below. Stay tuned and best of luck!

Good round up as usual!

Well done to all - especially those achieving target races.

I've had two very low months, but have recently passed 1,000. With plans for a big June, hopefully I'll leave a very attainable target for a remaining steady six months. But let's see.
