How times have changed. When I was at school I opted for packed lunch as the fare the canteen served seemed to consist solely of burgers, pizza and chips!!

I never had school dinners as we couldn’t afford them. From what I recall I walked home but even then didn’t have lunch.

When I was growing up, there were no such thing as school lunches. We had to bring our own packed lunches. In high school, we had a cafeteria but had to pay for food from it, so I made my lunch...either ham and cheese or tuna sandwiches with an apple for a snack.

I never liked pork pies when I was school age, it's a taste I've only learned to appreciate as a grown-up, though I think the pastry is still usually too heavy. I like sausage rolls though.
It was school dinners for me, cooked on the premises by a team of large, loud and jolly ladies. Nobody brought packed lunches in those days.

Morning. Quiet on the thread today.
Parkrun done. DrK suitably commemorated with my second placed lady success.

Jogged Maldon pr this morning with Mrs Nellers (her 3rd parkrun) and commemorated Dr K with big smiles and lots of encouragement. Got my moneys worth too. 46 minutes.
