oh blimey you folks put me to shame! Such great training miles, npc's and ultras--and here I am churning out just two miles this morning after waking up and feeling tooo tired!
I don't mind the heat or humidity .... "Ha ha!" I hear you pointing out that well, at two or three miles there's not even likely to be any sweat!
My wife is looking forward to her twenty mile event next weekend (trails) and her mileage makes me envious in some ways.
I loved your in and out thinking about Loch Ness LL!!
Maybe one day I might get to do another half or full but a lot has got to change if that ever seriously comes to mind.

Good to see you back here gg! Great photo of a determined runner.

Hello 👋🏻 everyone, been a bit awol for a while. I caught an awful cold that the wee man took back from nursery. It’s the worst I have been for a long time. Still struggling yet. The wee man will also be 2 in a week and a half 🙀, not sure where all the time has gone.

Well done on your race GG, sounds pretty tough.

I did Loch Ness as my first marathon in 2012, I want to do it again sometime. The downhills at the beginning took their toll on my knee though and had to walk the majority of the 2nd half. The bus to the start seemed to take forever, wasn’t the direct route.

That would be the best LL!!

The downhill killed my legs after Hardmoors Princess 50k it’s not an easy run despite the Princess badge.

Thanks everyone it’s been a struggle to fit in enough training but I survived ❤️

Colds are often really unpleasant aren't they and linger too. Hope you're feeling 100% again soon lesley. How quickly indeed the little fella is growing up, time flies too quickly!

It's 43 years today that I began running and believe it or not I just ran around that first field /trail where I began my running journey on!

I haven't done a marathon since 1986 LL (London) and if I tried to do one today I'd need to take a couple of packed lunches!

I think that I "missed the boat" regarding ultras when I was younger, as in my ignorance, I didn't know that they existed. I'm too old to attempt one now. My first 6 races, however, were marathons, and I have run 14, with a PB of 3.12 when I was 47. I'm training for another now, where I will be pacing a buddy who is doing the virtual London Marathon off road in October.

I ran 15k in the forest this morning with 3 running buddies.
