Steve, it's good that you've restarted intervals again, and hopefully will introduce some hill work. In my opinion, hilly runs are as beneficial as hill reps.

This morning's run was an easy pace road run of 7 miles.

Just over 5k today in humid conditions for me.
Scheduled rain tomorrow will suit me better.
Hoping for 8 tomorrow to keep me on track.
All the best for your NPR HS.
Real parkrun starting soon.
Happy running everyone.

Today is a rest day from running for me.

Well done LL for running in humid conditions. I hope tomorrow's 8 miler goes well.

Thanks, I'm doing the NPR tomorrow on roads, and solo. I will be trying for a good time, and not to "run out of steam!"

Good evening, all. I'm sorry that I haven't been posting on here for a week or two, but I've read most of your news.

Steve, I'm glad that you are more comfortable in your running lately, and going further. It's good that you're still doing intervals, and even contemplating hills!
I did some intervals earlier this week - a set of 300m. reps in average of 1:20 (4:27/km pace), which actually encouraged me, as I am at last finding a little more speed - snail's speed for many here!

Peter, a problem with the discs is a nasty thing. In 2004, I had 2 prolapsed discs and at times I seized up and couldn't move! I had a year off work, and a few years with little running. It's contributed to injuries on my left side and left leg since then.

I've done a couple of marathons, but no more! Long runs are too painful for my back. It's a pity, because Loch Ness sounds great.

Steve, when I was 70, I asked my wife to run with me. She said, "I'll run for 70 minutes with you". That was much longer than she'd ever run before, but she did it! Then 3 years later it was her 70th and she did a 10 mile sponsored run. In 2 years time I plan to do a sponsored event for a cancer charity, because it will be 50 years since my dad died of Mesothelioma - caused by asbestos more than 35 years earlier.

Good to see you about still Evangel. I did some snooping the other day because I'd not seen you post for a while. Good to see you still running 4 or 5 times a week.

Good hearing from you again Evangel!

Those 300 metre reps are very impressive, 4.27/km pace, is excellent.

Ran this morning's 68th not a parkrun 5k on roads in 27.05, average 8.43 minute miling, Vo2 max 49.

You're doing a good bit more than I do Evangel , I recall you mentioning those long runs that you did and that great ten miler that your wife did. I'm nowhere near getting 300 metre intervals under my belt either!

Wow again to your notapark run hs, I know for sure I won't get that pace again.
Eight is great LL! I wanted to do a fairly long (for me) run but had to finish at just over 5k- I managed to get a "hot spot" thanks to my new prescription orthotics first time outing!
Still sticking to every other day for now which has an impact on mileage of course but I think it's worth the experiment- I was running less miles and at faster pace 15 years ago. Trouble is we never know how decline actually sets in...ugh!
