Nights are an unfortunate encumbrance of the job I'm afraid Steve and RFJ but I did manage a gentle 4 mile run home at the end of the shift so still ticking over 😄

Good to hear you've had your jabs Steve, knowing a fair few people who have had theirs and felt a bit off it for a day or two, waiting a while till you run sounds a good plan. Hope the snazzy new shoes feel good once you get out in them too

Great "plodding" and biking RFJ 👍

All well after Saturday jab and Sunday rest day. Nice 3.4 in new ASICS this morning, I like them!
Four miles at the end of a night shift sounds like a committed runner Jayfire.
Great bike miles RJF and keep up the poling. You must be in pretty good overall nik with what you're doing.

Thanks RFJ, the calf passed its test this morning, although it did start aching slightly during the second 5k. Well done for your cycling mileage, this must be helping to maintain your fitness.

Good to hear that you are feeling ok after your second Jab Steve, and also that you like your new Asics.

This mornings run was the Club's virtual 10k Challenge. I ran with one of my running buddies who asked me to pace her at 10 minute miling. Our average pace was 9.56, so she was really pleased with that. We also managed a negative split with the second 5k quicker than the first.

Great Challenge pace there hs... I'm sure you'll still keep some attention on your calf, you don't want that to worsen or drag on.
I don't have any excuses for my poor pace other than what I've mentioned before!

It irked me yesterday that my time for running 3.4 miles was exactly the same as my 10k pb a long time ago.

Five miles with my wife this morning on trails was hard going!

Hi all, think I forgot to do my weekly update on Sunday, I got myself to 82.6m at the weekend and another 5.5 last night brings me to 88.1. So still on track, although slightly ahead, for my target this year (I am aiming for 100/month)

Also to say I agree with MMM, you slightly older chaps are truly inspirational, my mum is 76 and also still runs, although injured at the moment.

Great news for those having their vac's & glad your calf held up hs

Great going gg. A hundred a month is a good target round figure to allow for the ups and downs that maybe crop up during a year. Hope your Mum's injury gets better soon.
Thought better than to run this morning as I felt far too tired even though I slept well.

She’s really struggling Steve it started with a pain in glute then looped round her hip to her groin. They’ve got the glute and hip sorted but the groin is still very painful, she can manage to walk about 10-15min but they are now concerned it’s her hip so she may need to go for a scan. She’s understandably worried as am I, she’s not good at having to sit still and she’s barely crossed the door in 6-7 weeks.

Glad you’re liking ASICS they were always my go too shoes until I started minamilist running.

Geordiegirl, I hope you manage your target of 100 miles per month. Sorry to hear that your mum is still suffering and I hope that she doesn't have to have an operation on her hip.

This morning's Independent training session was hill reps, 5x2 minutes with recoveries running down. It was very mild so I was wearing t shirt and shorts. First time with just one top layer for months 😁

Watching the cricket and England 81 for 5. They won the toss and elected to bat. I bet they are regretting it now.

I went running with the buggy for the first time today. 1 min on 1 min off, going to build it up gradually. Was great, the wee man didn't complain either. Running pace was good even though I did hill reps last night.

Good running/cycling everyone.

Well done Lesley!

I remember my eldest grandson used to love it when his Dad took him out in the running buggy. Arms out and "whee!" .
