Steve, I like running in the rain too. I think I run quicker, probably to get home again, shower and get into dry clothes.

The left calf is feeling better today, so I don't think any damage was done. I'm taking today and tomorrow as rest days, but I might try a little jog on Friday to see how it goes.

Sorry been a tad AWOL lately, still been training on the bike and walking a little with the poles, but generally tired, low and grumpy...

Take care all

Hi everyone, I'm pretty quiet and remain in the background but thought I'd just say hey as I am in this group with you all this year 🙂

Hello, Jayfire.

Intervals for me tonight, haven’t done any for a few weeks due to the weather. It’s so nice not worrying about snow or ice. Was windy though.

So close last year Jayfire . .good to see you here.

Tired, low and grumpy RFJ! Hope you can reverse those three; great to know that you're cycling and walking with the poles keeping up your general fitness.
Ordered some Asics, never worn them before. Irksome that they don't give the heel to toe differential in the on- line description, I've been wearing shoes with 8mm differential for a very long time. (Saucony and Hoka). Hoping that a new brand fires up my pace a bit!

Thanks Steve, I walked to and from the supermarket this morning, and although the calf wasn't painful, I was still a bit cautious. I'm sure no real damage has been done, but to be on the safe side, won't run the Saturday 5k, but try an easy jog. I have to be very careful now at my age, if I wish to continue running for a a few more years.

I've worn Asics 1000's for many years, and have never had any problems with them. In my early running days, I must have tried most of the other brands, but always returned to Asics.

Sorry to hear you’re a bit low RFJ. Hope you can lift yourself.

Adidas seem to work for me.

HS, as a fellow contemporary (1 month difference), I'd like to endorse your words. One of my running 'targets' is to be still running in my 80s (probable), and even 90s (vaguely possible). Although PBs are almost impossible, attaining a respectable WAVA is still within reach. However to win a race would necessitate all other competitors taking a wrong turn somewhere!

HS and Evangel.. as you know I'm the youngest of the septuagenarians here😂 and I too want to be running for many years to come. Already notched up forty years and I like to think I am...and would be more cautious about niggles than when I was a few decades younger! My wife tells me I'm still a bit cavalier though...
I've worn Adidas in the distant past and the model was fantastic. It was discontinued! I've also worn Nike, Pony, Hi Tech and when I started..M&S😂 After your comment hs I'm looking forward to more spring in my step!
