12barDavid, sounds like my sort of run. I used to run on the South Downs when I lived in Waterlooville. It was a 6 mile road run there, and then 6 miles back. I was younger then, and used to do hill reps up Butser Hill.
Lesley C, when I lived in Liverpool in the late seventies, early eighties, I used to do speed work in Sefton Park. One day during a fast rep, I was overtaken by a runner who seemed to be jogging. It was Hugh Jones, one of our top marathoners in those days, and his his times are still quicker than most of todays male marathoners.

Hi guys weekly check in. This week has gone well. 4 runs is not enough at the moment and a new skort meant I had to test run it (in winter me who likes to be warm ran in a skort - twice)
After moving my weekend runs last week I struggled by Tuesday rest day Wednesday.
Ran with a friend today I closed up a half she got her highest mile run so smiles all round despite the ice. (An excuse to slow down and enjoy the views)
Total now at 89.6/1000 (I need sacked had I realised I’d have rounded today up!)
Great running from the posts I’ve managed to catch up on, hope you’re ok after your slip today RFJ

Gromit - I uploaded my mileage before checking. Not sure what is happening tomorrow due to weather. I just want to get this silly challenge done and I really want a rest day!

MrsB I’m also looking forward to getting it done ... it’s made me get my ass out running a lot when I wouldn’t have bothered so it’s been what I needed to be ... maybe just a bit too far but hey it wouldn’t have been a challenge otherwise I guess ..... I’ll have a few days rest before the next one 😂😂😜

A light fall of snow here in South East Wales but slushy in some places along trails. Nice to break some virgin snow cos we rarely get snow here. Five miles odd keeps me exactly where I want to be target wise. Doing well RFJ again.. except for the buttock bounce! Yeah hillstrider, those top runners of that era, especially Steve Jones, didn't faff around with too many training ideas or fancy shoes but trained sensibly and with a different mind set I think.

I'd forgotten how hard running in the snow is! We took it slowly and took loads of photos. Here are a couple:

Lovely photos Mrsb.
14 for me today but stuck to main roads which had been gritted so the footpaths weren't too bad. 3 very small and 1 larger slide overall. Not the route I'd planned but safer.
