Well done LL, that's very impressive running quicker than back in 2019.
It was so hot during this mornings parkrun that I didn't run as quickly as intended. However, I was over a minute quicker than last week, so can't complain. There was a runner from another running club who I thought was about my age, so when he finished a short way ahead of me, I was relieved to find that he was in the 70 - 75 age category đ

I was slow today at my parkrun but heat and tiredness are the excuses of the day.
Still my 62nd venue and a nice morning out.
Another Essex one completed.
Well done on yours HS good time despite being slower that last week.

LL, I was over a minute quicker than last week, but slower today than I intended.
It certainly was very hot and I think that we all suffered. Well done for your 62nd venue. I have only park-runned at 4 venues.

Oh my word it is rather warm!
Left the house at 6am for a short run before work and then sweltered through a day in a portacabin classroom. I am supposed to be doing a longer run tomorrow - not quite sure how I will get that done without boiling (I need to be at school at 7.45 and the late afternoon/evening is looking scorching!)
Keep cool everyone!

Good luck with the Clacton parkrun FF. I hope that the weather stays fine for the weeks break.
I hope it wasn't too hot for your longer run this morning MrsB?
It started raining as I set off for this mornings solo forest run. It wasn't too heavy, but soon formed muddy pools. I ran 6.35 miles at an easy pace.

Determined strong runners here despite the heat which has finally arrived with its humidity. Hope you managed an early rise Mrsb and put in a longer run. Good going LL on your improvement over 2019 and your over a minute quicker than last week's park run hs. Testament to good training regime. Find some slopes ready for your hilly race FF and get some practice! Talking of races, what defines a "race". I know people who do park run for its social component but also know many who are "racing" it! The fact that the fastest times done in the UK are listed every week point to what is the competitive element. I don't see anything wrong with anyone calling it social or a race, doing one's own thing. So is a race only a competition with defined AAA Rules etc? Of course I know many people too who enter what are "defined races" but are not "racing it" until it turns out to be a pb....!! And then know people who put in a poor time and say "they weren't racing it"! However, for most I guess it doesn't really matter and running is an individual thing . No running yet. Knee no better âšī¸

Another hot and sunny morning and I ran 7.11 miles in the forest with two running friends.
