What a treat of a weekend FF! Excellent park run there and a first in age group. That's really great .
7.6 forest miles hs....phew.. and with hills, there's no stopping you!
Ran 3.3 actually with my wife this morning, nice sunshine but heck the wind was very cold early morning when we set out. Still getting burning/sore chest and no improvement.
Arghh to 9.6km Mrsb! That 0.4km plays on my mind. Well done on doing that on track after a13miler, recovered well after Boston.

My word you've all been busy, I've had a true to style gg weekend and not really had much time to fetch (there's a blog but you may exhaust yourself reading it)

Well done on the great parkrunning AndyS they are amazing numbers! and also hope you had a successful 100m bike ride.

I did parkrun with my crazy friend on Saturday (feels like forever ago) we had a proper laugh and lots of pratting about taking photos afterwards before going for a bite to eat. So I'm at the dizzying heights of 39 now.

Great to see you back up to 5m Steve hope you're ok and hope you get some answers from the thoracic clinic.

I have now downloaded that app hs, Alice uses it and I am thinking all these challenges in there means I am likely to get drawn in to some of them. On way to parkrun I thought darn it I've forgotten my barcode, on the phone looking to see if I could get it as I have a thought that they can scan from your phone as i took it out my pocket my barcode is sitting in the cover - totally forgot I had done that 2 years ago! At least it explains why I couldn't find it earlier in the month.

Sunday I did a run and included a mile for my virtual mile and got a cracking PeeBee doing my mile in 7.53 - my previous best was 8.34 over the moon. Yesterday went out with my pal thinking 4/5 miles but she wanted her 15k garmin badge do 9.5 it was. A great route exploring never trodden trails in our local woods/fells it was fabulous.

So now back at work for a rest and to decide what to round my month up to. Have a good week gang.

Well done FF for your excellent parkrun and 15.6 miler.

Well done MrsB for your 9.6k on the track, but a shame it wasn't 10k, as that would have given you some idea of what a road 10k time could be.

I'm glad that you have downloaded the 5k app GG, but I did warn that it could be addictive 😉

I have the barcode and QR code on my garmin watch, so there is no way I could turn up without them. The scanners say that it is easier scanning the QR code than the barcode.

Well done for your excellent virtual mile PB of 7.53, I can't get anywhere near that nowadays.

Well done for yesterday's 9.5 miles with your pal over previously untrodden trials, that is my sort of run.

Today is a rest day, just the usual Farmers Walk, which I count as cross training.

I'm sorry to hear Steve that you are still getting burning and soreness in your chest, but well done for persisting with your running.

Thanks for your comments on yesterday's run. Garmin Connect actually advised that I was in optimum condition, with a VO2 max of 47. Makes a nice change from "unproductive!"

HS, the 9.6k included the recovery sections - so not likely to give an accurate 10k time. I hate track, but always feel better (smugger) for completing it! Last nights session was 4 laps to warm up, then 6x200m with 200m recovery, 6x400m (200 recovery) and 2x 800m (200 recovery) - the reverse of last week’s session.

Today I ran 5 miles - attempting to stay in heart rate zone 2 - felt torturously slow!

great running MrsB, I've always been too scared to do a track session - maybe I need to get my big girls pants on.

Well done for the great training.

That's an excellent track session MrsB. We don't have easy access to a "proper" running track, but do have a circular gravel track in the forest which is 800 metres. I have a range of efforts with qty and recovery times on my garmin watch, so all efforts are accurate distances. We do most of the shorter efforts on grass in a large field.

Well done for todays 5 miles. It is difficult to run at a low heart rate, because we think we should be running quicker.

GG, I think you would enjoy track running if you tried it. It does take time though to pace your self.

I do really enjoy the interval training runs I used to have in my plan, daft thing is I have the plan and I could very easily reinstate it - but somehow I just dont seem to be able to make that necessary step. Maybe I should utilise Fetch's training plan and do whatever I tell myself i have to do and pretend it is Sophie keeping an eye on me.

Well done on the track session MrsB and the 5m too.

GG, I think that once you make the effort, you will find that you soon adapt to including intervals in your training.

This mornings session with the Wednesday Crew was one with a difference. It was off road, but relatively root free, and springy underfoot like a running track. We did 5 hill reps with jogs back down, climbed 4 sets of high stone steps and down, and some exploration. A bit of local knowledge is worth its weight in gold.

Splendid end of the month training by so many, well done you lot! It's great that park run, virtual mile intervals and track seem to keep everyone pushing forward. Well done on your mile time gg and for another exhausting sounding track session Mrsb, even though you don't like it! Nice variation in your session hs .
I kicked off the start of the month with 5k along part road and mostly trail. My five mile effort recently which left me with doms then developed into a knee ache so I have to do the roller for a while. I wouldn't personally bother but my wife insists, I'd just take a few days off yet again! Still pretty chilly early in the morning and it's none dry everywhere which is a nice change from the wet of early spring.
My new Saucony Ride are near enough perfect.
