No running today even though tempted, thinking five days on a trot (!) is probably enough for now. Pity because with such fabulous early morning blue skies it's great to be alive! Did a short walk of a mile just to enjoy being out there

Personally I think 5 days was too much after covid but you know how you feel Steve. I hope you continue to improve.
No run for me this morning as I was bitten on each ankle yesterday at parkrun and once on my right knee. Antihistamine was taken when I got home but they are slightly swollen and itchy this morning. I shall rest with them raised as much as possible.

It’s marmite for sure I am barefoot all the time at home, in garden, even when I was in the office if no one was around I’d have my shoes off. So for me it’s great that I’ve got to be able to do it running (I do get some odd looks) I don’t think I’ll ever only run barefoot but nice to shake off the shoes now and again. I have heard of the famous barefooters hs I remember as a kid thinking how amazing zola was. Probably where it started
Great parkrun Lesley a number I have to peg myself out to get.
Sorry to hear about your bites FF hope they settle quickly.

I should have thought about it before I left home tbh GG. The course is all grass and I know insects love my legs and ankles. I should have taken repellent with me.

Well done Lesley and LL.
Steve, even I, who doesn't listen to his own advice, doesn't run 5 successive days 🙄. Good though that you are regaining your fitness.
Sorry to hear about the bites FF, hope it wasn't by tics?
I used to love walking and running barefoot GG, when I was a youngster on holiday at the seaside. I'm sure my feet hardened up, as I also walked on the pavements. I haven't walked or run barefoot since.
Very hot again this morning, and I ran a solo 8 miles in the forest. Very foolish though, as tomorrow's run with the Monday Group is scheduled for 10 miles.

Ha ha HS telling Steve off and overdoing it yourself. We just can’t help ourselves. 🤣 I ran a horrible 5 today should have been a rest day but getting my hair done tomorrow can’t waste a hair do on a sweaty run.
I’m prone to getting bitten and feel your pain FF.

Enjoy your treat of a new hair do LL I’m having mine cut on Friday (haven’t decided whether to go a bit shorter) so I’ll have to run early. May have a rest day Saturday to make it last a bit longer.
Just finished reading Coasting, Elise Downing who ran round the British Coast - there’s something very appealing if I could just take the escape from life it would be a pretty cool thing to do.

Thanks hillstrider, LL and Turkhish, I've just got in from work and my ankles feel hot and tight. I'm quite reluctant to remove my socks. I think I shall be putting an old pillow at the bottom of the bed to raise them tonight.
