I did enjoy it but we were lucky with the weather and the stars were amazing. My satnav didn't take me to Aboyne v stonehaven but took me to Aboyne v a crazy old military road which was a hairy drive.

That would be the Cairn O Mount, not the best but the views at the top are fantastic.

9 miles this morning in the dark, with reps. Splits all over place. That's me over the 900 mile mark now.

Duo: thanks for the comment on my planned Yorkshire marathon. I'm not a hugely experienced marathon runner, I've 11 completed ones behind me, but Yorkshire is local and I've done that 8 times! The hill at the end is most unwelcome. My target everytime has been 4 hours, last year I was 4 hours and 2 seconds, that hill hurt me.

I'm no where near the above this time. Still concerned about the right foot, I keep getting cramp in my big toe!

Jack: I'm not really an Australian rules fan, but 30 years ago i saw a couple of games live - Collingwood v st kilda at the MCG and swans v geelong at the SCG. The MCG game was a bank holiday sell out. Quite an experience.

Home from the boating holiday in France. One run to add 10.2

Ytd: 733. 8

Hope your Dad is better LL and that the travel hasn't disrupted your training too much. 10k on 13th? Plenty of time for adjustments?.
Hope your back is ok hs and that's wise to decide against a park run tomorrow, no need to aggravate things.
Great nine miler in the dark Lesley even though you didn't seem happy with your splits; pleased that the lad is back on form.
Pity that your foot is still bugging you Donnie1. Are you doing anything to rectify the pain? Had it checked out by a physio? It would be a pity for it to interfere with your marathon.
Best wishes to your Mam for tomorrow gg .

All road effort for me this morning, in the dark. Too much rain to bother with trails. 3.2 miles at the usual plod/run pace!

I'm glad that the wee man seems to be better now Lesley.

Well done for this mornings 9 miles including reps. Very impressive đź‘Ź

Donnie 1, I'm sorry to hear that you are still getting cramp in the big toe of your right foot. Perhaps you should have it checked out by a physio, as suggested by Steve. Well done for your 10.2 miles.

Thanks Steve, I did the Farmers Walk this morning with no problems, but soon after I got home, my back twinged when I leaned forward. I think that I might have pulled a muscle, as it's not a permanent pain, but just hurts with certain movements. More rest days looking possible, unfortunately.

Well done for this mornings 3.2 miles on roads.

Some good news, my daughter, who lives in Aylesbury, has enrolled for a couch to 5k programme commencing on 10th October. I hope that she sticks with it and continues running after the programme ends.

I'm not a physio, but I'd recommend a wee can of tonic water now and again to help with cramps.

I hope she sticks to it HS.

My back has been playing up so I've had a couple of rest days and an aborted fast session earlier this week. Back to it tonight (I'm not a morning runner so everything is done after work) with a gentle few miles.

Sorry to hear about the back, HS. Hope it gets sorted. Fantastic news about your daughter. No doubt you will be the perfect person to pass on some tips.

Donnie, I’m glad you got to sample our native game. Hope your foot comes good.

Love nothing more than stargazing, Duo. The size of the universe blows my mind.

36km today. Bang on Marathon pace. Feel cooked though. Into 2 week taper mode now. It’s the better half’s birthday weekend so we are going out to celebrate tonight and tomorrow. Hopefully I have the energy to put a drink to my lips tonight.

Enjoy your weekend everyone.

If it is cramp Donnie then your electrolyte/ salt levels could be skewiff! Make sure you salt your food normally and take duo's idea on board too.
How good is that! ? Your daughter signed up for C25k hs. My son and daughter wouldn't go for running at all but are long distance cycling enthusiasts. Pity about your back, and yours duo.Ugh! Some here might recall I was having physio for a hip problem six months ago; well , one of the exercises "did something" to my back / kidney area-- so I thought and which curtailed that programme. All the blood tests proved nothing sinister but physio thought the pain best to be checked out. GP ultimately disagreed with physio who didn't think it was muscular. No pain on running or walking. I think I probably wasn't doing the exercises properly. Am seeing physio again next month to review and renew a programme!

Chilliest morning here since April at 5c.Nice run along trails with my wife as the sun rose. Just over 4 miles to take me to over 100 miles for September so far .
I read that next week is a big anniversary for Park Run!
