8 miles this morning with 3 x 1m intervals. The first interval was my attempt at the virtual mile and I managed 7 minutes, I must admit that was better than I thought it was going to be. I appear to be slowing down for my mile attempts. Thanks Jack, I hadn't realised I'd reached 800 miles despite my secondary target being 1500 and needing 125 a month for that.

Been absent for a week. Read every post but hard to comment as things move quickly however want to say 'best wishes and good luck' to Mr MM, a regular from the RW site.
Three runs to add 5.2, 7.3 and 5.3. Last was earlier Monday morning, next should be Friday (tomorrow) tea tinr.

That’s a big secondary target, Fenland Flier. Good luck.
Great mileage, Donnie. Keep it up.
Those commenting on the push ups, it’s easy! You start with a rep of 1 and build from there. It’s my only strengthening exercise, and I’ve been meaning to do some leg exercises at the local outdoor gym but the weather has kept me away. Maybe in Spring.
10km to work this morning by Albert Park Lake. I’ll take some photos at some point and share. It’s a beautiful spot. Plenty of swans, ducks and the turds on the path that come with it!
Enjoy your weekend running everyone. I’ll hit the pavement on Sunday.

Well done FF for yesterday's 8 miles, including 3 x 1 mile intervals; the first in 7 minutes, very impressive!
Donnie 1, well done for your last 3 runs.
JackFW, it would take a heck of a long time building up from 1 rep a day to 150😃
Well done for this mornings 10k on the way to work. I'm looking forward to your future photos.
Just the usual Friday Farmers Walk this morning.

Jack, last year I ran 1480, in '22 I did 1501, '21 I was injury hit and only 496 and in '20 I ran 1524. My biggest year was in '18 when I did 2 marathon training plans and hit a year of PB's with 1738. I've not done any core work and know I should really. I'm considering a marathon next year when I turn 60 with an aim of 3,30 but know that will take a lot of training and I don't know if I want that commitment. Running a marathon for fun does appeal but I don't enter races 'just to finish' and I haven't raced for quite a while now.

Any wildlife is hard to photograph. I am pretty lucky round here for deer, birds of prey, red squirrels and the occasional pine marten. Dolphins as re great to watch, we can see them regularly at Aberdeen beach.
Some great running going on this week, some fast mile times Falcarius and FF.
I missed my run yesterday, I think I ate something dodgy on Tuesday and felt pretty ill after my run. So thought best not to do anything. I feel much better today so I did my strength session this morning and will still do my long run tomorrow.
Have a good weekend folks.

Really high mileages are useful for those doing ultras and marathons. At her peak in 2013 my wife did 2435 miles and over 2000 a couple of years after that; that was for 24 hour races which demanded a fair bit of endurance. Last time I did a lot was in 2016 when I managed 1323 but those days are well and truly gone! Never done intervals JackFW! In 46 years I've never done them properly and only now and again. However the great running by a few people here who do them appears to show their benefits...hs, Lesley, gg , LL, FF and others. I've tried the incremental day by day increase for push ups and gave up on day fifteen. 150 sounds bonkers Jack! Well tortured though 🤣. Nice to see a deer LL , we don't have them here in se Wales. Eight miles is low for you FF but well done on the interval bits. I guess your "slow" mile to be a one off. Five miles along trails with my wife this morning and a slight improvement on my performance (!). Fantastic morning, hope it's not too warm for those doing the Lakeland ultra.

Well done Steve for this mornings 5 miles with your wife on trails. It's good to hear that it was a slight improvement on your performance.
I did the Bartley Park parkrun again this morning in 29.47, a few seconds slower than last week. I was informed that I was being used as a pacemaker by 5 other runners. I suppose that is a bit of a compliment, as I was the eldest in the run🤣
