Fabulous fifteen FF. Park run is still difficult for me to see it as "not a race" For some people it is. Locally here there are four park runs dominated at the front of the packs by club runners busting a gut! Just because some rules of "true races" aren't apparent, people still try to beat other people and "race them". I don't see anything wrong in that. It's a great opportunity for people to participate . What a fabulous morning yet again and perfect for runners . 4.2 quite hilly road miles this morning almost ensures I'll do 100 miles this month. I need to keep up the momentum if I'm to reach that 1000.

Hey everyone and great running. There's so much to comment on and I've missed tons of things but this should be my most consistent year to date with highest mileage. Even when marathon training.
Our local parkrun has a pacing event the last Saturday of the month which seems to go well. I personally don't attend parkrun even though the event is only a mile or so away as I have one lie in a week and that is it. 😄
One of the things that keeps me running is the local wildlife. Like Lesley I can see all manner of things from dolphins to birds of prey.
I'm heading off to Loch Eck soon on a overnight in a dog friendly hotel. We have a nervous sighthound so we're trying him on a short break. If it goes well we can try him later in the year with a longer time away.

So much has been going on I will say a general well done and apologise for lack on personal updates. The weekend was manic (well all last week to be honest) but the parents had the best few days celebrating their diamond wedding so my plans were squashed in and on hold. I was on my first week of solo planning and with a few changes manged to fit it all in (mostly)
Having done a year of 5 marathons (1 being my first ultra) in 2019 on only 662m! I have never hit bit miles even for the ultras. 2021 was my best year with 1475 and my first 100k , 1340 in 2022 with a 70m run and last year 1470 with nothing really big.
I had a stretch target of 1500 this year but its not going to happen even if the foot op doesn't get done this year. I know its been mentioned before by a fetchie that they don't know how I manage the big events on such little miles but no doubt explains why I am so slow.

Steve, in my opinion, and experience, the majority of parkrunners are competitive, so although technically not racing, it is in name, if that makes sense 🤔
Well done for this mornings 4.2 miles on hilly roads. Keep it up, I'm sure that you will reach your 1000 miles target.
duo, it's good to hear that this year has been your highest mileage to date. Local wildlife must be a good incentive to keep you running. I hope that you enjoy your future overnight stay at Loch Eck in a dog friendly hotel.
GG, it's amazing how you manage so many high mileage races, on the mileage that you do. You must have great endurance and will power to sustain you.
This morning was a 12k (7.46 miles) forest run with a running friend. The forest is drying out, but in some of the fields, where the mud had dried, has left lumpy ground where cattle had walked through whilst it was waterlogged. Very warm, so quite tough at times, especially when walking over the dried mud.

Yes, that seems about right hs. And of course park runs are actually listed as "races" on individual 's Fetch profiles. 12k in the forest sounds a super route hs and sure, it's pretty dry around here too after just a day or two if relative heat. You're doing well duo and I like your interest in what wildlife you can see in your runs. Bird wise nearly all bird song has ceased now as summer moults and southward migration has already started.
You too gg, you've done some amazing runs and events which you must be pleased with . Despite the bunion the miles are impressive so 1500 can wait until another year I'm sure! Torey has had to forget her original goal of 1500 because of on going nerve pain since her hip replacement. Seeing a specialist privately in mid August because GP won't refer until she's been ( again) to the Pain Clinic which is waste of time but follows protocol.

Well done on all your runs folks.
I don't race parkrun at the moment, just trying to get my 100 runs. Although I am sprinting for the finish line and taking people with a few metres to go. We never use pacers at my local as it's too hilly for that. I will be RD this Saturday.
Enjoy your trip Duo.
Nice finish Jack.
Hopefully Torey can get some answers from the private clinic and can get sorted soon.
I did 15 miles on Saturday, it was a warm day again. I had a knee niggle for the last couple of miles, it was fine on my walk home at the end of the run. I did ache on my recovery run yesterday too, hopefully a cut back week this week helps. Just great timing when I actually sign up for an event.

I'm a big supporter of park run and love the general feel of the whole morning at my local event. I'd say it's generally VERY inclusive but everyone is interested in their personal performance which is the same at every event / race. I don't 'race' but do like a finish token placing me in the 30s.
I'm not really high mileage. Last year was 1267 which is a pd. This year given injury in Jan and Feb I'll be about 1100. I'm in the Yorkshire marathon which will add a few during Aug and September.
Parkrun last Saturday and 5 miles early Sunday morning before heading to county cricket.

I’ve only done a park run once. It was a big one (maybe 300-400 people?), but really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was great. There were competitive beasts at the front and plodders at the back and everyone in between. I do plan to head back but I really enjoy my sleep ins on a Saturday morning and often run Sunday.
10km “fast-ish” run this morning in foggy conditions. Really enjoyed it and felt good. It might have been the rocky road I had for dessert last night which was a gift for dog sitting on the weekend.

A fifteen miler Lesley! That's great and hopefully the niggle is just that and will be gone soon .
No doubt that park run has incentivised so many people and loved by all participants. It's great to see people enjoying (?!!) themselves across swathes of the country, and world. Not for me though, just not my thing . The "big one" in my town is 750-1000 people JackFW. Well done in doing a fastish 10k. Foggy? Nothing like that here, glorious sunshine the last couple of days and perfect running weather this morning (16c when I left at 6.30am). 4.5 miles to take me over the 100 for the month. Trails are bone dry and fine for plodding along.
