Nice part of the world although I haven’t been @JackFW is it Phillip Island that has the penguins? I did threaten to look at a job at the shipyards in Williamstown when I came back from Oman but nothing came up, when we got stuck in Oz during Covid I was very tempted to see if I could work from Australia I think I’d love to live there.

Hope today goes well @steve45 and well done on the mystery run @hillstrider I always plan my route when with my friend so it’s rarely a surprise but I am prone to following an unknown path, which I’ve been doing this morning.

You’re doing great @

We’ve been fairly lucky with the rain mostly arriving at night last night we got in from the pub after having some food and seconds later the heavens opened it rained hard all night but dry ish today just a bit drizzly for my run. 6m done which not as long as I probably should have done but we’ll be walking later and it’s all time on feet.

Fingers crossed that all goes well today Steve 🤞

Thanks GG,we usually plan our routes, but couldn't agree yesterday. That is why we varied the course, more or less making it up as we went along. More fun that way 😂

Well done for this mornings 6 miles.

Hope today goes well Steve.

There's been lots of good running in here from you all. Sorry been reading and not posting, been a busy few days. The wee man turned 5 on Sunday so we were celebrating.

I often make up where I am going on runs too, can be fun sometimes.

Club for me tonight, I am leading the session, hoping I don't get annoyed with the other guy - he's taking the easy group.

Going to be upping my training - I have a race in mind for the 13th of October and not a short one either. It's in Perthshire so will be stunning.

A belated happy 5th birthday 🎂 to the wee man Lesley.

I hope that this evenings club session goes well, and the other guy "doesn't stick his oar in!"

Good luck with your training for your long race in October.

Happy 5th birthday to your wee man o bet he had the best day.

Exciting times for your longer event in October and in Perthshire I’m sure it will be stunning.

Hope tonight goes well and your annoying club people wind their necks in and support the easy runners group.

Happy 5th to your wee man Lesley. I too have an event on the 13th Oct just 10k though.

I hope you got on ok today Steve.

We passed through Melbourne on our way back from NZ probably my 4th visit. We managed to do a parkrun "Parkville" went there instead of Albert Park because we could walk to it.

Hope everyone is well. I am off to Scotland by train tomorrow to see day one of the Open on Thursday and hope to get my first Scottish parkrun under my belt.

@Looby Loo Albert Park is my local parkrun (my one and only ever completed parkrun). It is very popular. Parkville would have been nice taking you through Royal Park. I’m too lazy to cross town on a Sat morning to do it, but I do a long run sometimes which takes in the park.

@geordiebells yes the island is known for the penguin colony. It is amazing watching them come on to the beach at night. I know Williamstown very well having lived there for a few years a while back. It’s a beautiful little seaside village in the heart of Melbourne. I’m not far from there now in Port Melbourne which is about a 5 mile drive (or only a mile or two as the bird flies across Hobson’s Bay).

@Lesley C Perthshire race sounds exciting. Keep us updated on how you go. Some pics would be welcome! Happy birthday to your boy.

Thanks, MrC. You are tracking well too.

10km this morning to work. No rain, and the sun was poking through the clouds by the end. Counting down the days to spring as these dark starts are not fun.

Thanks everyone, he had a great day.

Club was ok last night, the guy decided not to stand next to me at the meeting point, so everyone stood in the rain on the wrong side of the road. Don't think he wanted to make small talk with me which is totally fine.

We repeated a session I did myself last Tuesday, I did push hard when I was supposed to and ended up somehow with the same overall average pace for the intervals. Happy enough with it as it was absolutely pouring with rain and I couldn't dodge the puddles.

Thanks everyone for your best wishes re my consultant appointment. A good 45 minutes involvement exploring all the evidence of my tests again. She explained the problems well but I can't remember all the terminology although I understood it all. In short it's going to be an adjustment/increase in medication for thirty days and then another review. They're certainly looking after me.
