No photos today 😁

I ran 10k this morning with a running friend, which included 5 hill reps on a gravel track.

My friend I went to Jordan with sent me a card and little gift today, quite touched by it (she had said in Jordan I was like a camel, dont need to drink or eat much and can go on forever where other animals have much shorter limitations, I used to think I was a cactus but camels are way cuter)

GG, I like the card.

Thanks, I might run tomorrow, it depends on whether my new trainers have been dispatched.

Workout cut short tonight 😕

Should have been:
20 min warm up

3 x 5 min Tempo @ 10k pace followed by 5 min easy running
10 min cool down

Had calf pain & tightening during 2nd easy run. Same happened 3 days before the Ultra last month. Rest and easy stretching worked then, hopefully same this time.

Hey all, used to browse Fetch back in 2010/11 (Never posted) and have been away for a while. Big goal has always been sub-3 marathon, still chasing that!

Started running again in 2018 then had an accident skiing that took me out for a while. Started again seriously in 2022, did 100k (Race to the Stones) then and 100 miles (North Downs Way) in 2023. Aiming to run 1000 miles in 2024 but behind plan due to chest infection in Jan. Currently at 302.6, so about 50 miles down (Did a 50 miler on Saturday around the Isle of Wight that helped catch me back up) and have Exeter Marathon on Sunday.

Apart from a sub-3 marathon my other goal is UTMB, was going to do Wildstrubel this year but our second child is due the week after so I deferred it (Though Isle of Wight Ultra gives 3 stones in theory, so maybe 2025 will still be possible).

Based in SE London and currently reading What I Talk About When I Talk About Running by Haruki Murakami and it's brilliant.

Hi EdGreig - welcome (back)! Hope you enjoy Exeter. It’s pretty much my local marathon. It’s quite low key and probably too many twists and turns for a sub-3, but I guess you’re not targeting that this weekend?

I also did RTTS in 2022 - a hot year! Did you enjoy it?

I’m heading home today after a month away so way too much to comment on individually other than to say hope you feel better soon Steve.
I managed to run around the Yas marina GP circuit last night it was almost 40 degrees so my admiration for geordiegirl has gone up a notch.
