Fenland..you're right! I was going to take a week off to coincide with my wife's hip replacement operation which was to be on 29th November. It was cancelled just before she was due to go onto the ward. Bed shortage and now rescheduled for early January. But my week off starts today. With the nasty weather out there it's a good start!

Good start to the month, totally unexpected course PB at parkrun yesterday and 9 miles that felt very easy this morning. Looking forward to the Christmas holidays as I do like running in daylight!

Very warm in Valencia today. 4.17 for me today. Was hoping for quicker, but not disappointed. Fantastic city & wonderful marathon. One of the best finishes to race I seen

Just catching up with the news here.
Valencia sounds like a fabulous place to be, Dave. Congratulations on the PB, MrsB. Sorry to hear about your wife’s op cancellation, steve45. Only consolation is surgery is after Xmas but with recovery time during the winter so she’ll feel great by the summertime. I had my hip resurfacing in early February 2003, was walking a mile a day within a few days and was able to participate in a CRUK Race for Life 5k in June of that year.

Well done Dave K!
I have to say that I really want to beat my marathon PB. I think losing weight (about 26lbs so far and I wasn't vastly overweight to start with) has helped me to run faster, but my big barrier is a lack of self belief - I can literally talk myself out of being able to run fast enough!

Getting a PB is special ! For a marathon Mrsb, to break that 4.01 wouldn't it be wise to pick a single fast course, pick the best time of year so that pre training can be perfect and not do any random marathons in between? That VO2 clock is ticking too! Sorry..you know all that but you do put a lot of hard running in throughout the year and maybe that leaves you a few minutes off a PB run. I could never have done the miles you have done and never will now! But what outweighs a PB maybe is that you enjoy so many of your races-as described in such wonderful blogs. Glad that you enjoyed the Valencia Marathon Dave. Thanks for inspiration stuff Ness!
