Chiro/physio went well - not a knee issue as such, tight ITband, tight abductor, tight hamstring. Have exercises to do... must remember to do exercises...

Thanks Steve and Lesley.
MrsB, hope the exercises do the trick. Have you tried pilates or yoga?
I ran 6.1 miles on road this morning as a fartlek workout. Bitterly cold when I set off, but I soon warmed up. Only another 5 miles needed now for the 1,000.

Well done hillstrider, you do quickly warm up when doing fartleks, intervals or a tempo run.
I hope you enjoy the sixth mile of your next run as you'll know you have already ran 1000 this year.

Cstar- Come on you can still do it. 5 m/mi minute mile is the same distance as a 15 m/mi. Either way I am sure you won't be far of 1000 miles
MrsB- That is positive. I hope the exercises work.
Hillstrider- Well done no easying up now!

Have you been hiding some miles Gromit? That's a huge jump, have you done a secret long distance ultra?
A very steady plod around parkrun today encouraging as many people as I could, I loved it. Attempting to pace a lady to a new PB next week for her 50th parkrun, that will be even slower than today but I said I'd help so next week is Jeffing Then it's in the car and down to Cambridge for the Jingle Mile. I have a PB I'd like to beat myself

Thanks FF and falcarius, I won't ease up! I hope to get to 1000 quicker next year, as long as my knee holds out.
Cstar, dig in and think positive, there is no such word as can't.
Good luck for the Jingle Mile FF and I hope you beat your pb. Is it a track race?
I ran 6.1 miles in the wind and rain this morning and ran the final mile taking me over the 1000 at an average pace of 9.27. This was unthinkable a few months ago when I was struggling to run sub 11 minute pace.
