Thanks Steve, I'm hoping to be able to improve my pace now, as my knee "seems to be behaving," fingers crossed.

I arrive at work in the dark, leave in the dark, and really don't enjoy risking life and limb on country roads in the dark (and rain!). I considered a gym membership, but it costs a fortune, then I asked at school to see if I could use the treadmills in the gym after school - so 3.2 miles on the dreadmill yesterday evening. Dull as ditch water, but at least it is done.

Sounds difficult to fit in runs Mrsb but treadmill is better than nothing. In some ways though it might allow those bits and pieces contributing to your knee issue to calm down. Living in a big city with access to off road trails has its benefits but also its downside of pollution, noise and all the rest of it....
Hope that you're back to normality now Marky!
