I know, but I have a marathon on 11th November - which has been in the plan for ever... I know I can get round, so I may just take it easy until then.

You should Mrs B, it will take your body a while to recover from the 50 miler.

Just getting around is ok Mrsb but I bet you could throw in a pb if you were a bit discerning about what you enter. I know...races are fun and nice to enter especially when you get to know so many people but we often only have a rare, one off chance for a pb once we get past a certain age! Having said that it's none of my business and you're running is always interesting to read about but do take care of that body!

What steve45 said, MrsB.

I’m back in training but increasing my mileage slowly. 19 miles this week takes me to 929 for the year. Definitely on target so happy with that. :)

Great to be almost alongside a fine bunch! Pleased with where I'm at and ought to hit the target within four weeks now. Although---expect nothing, be prepared for anything!
Good going Ness, looks like you'll hit 1,000 easily.

G'devening all. I'm sorry that I haven't been on here lately, so I thought I'd better drop in. I see that lots of you are around the 1000 target. I might be able to join you for that next year. As for this year, though, nearly half of it has been lost through injury. Now I'm gradually building up mileage (last week 16 miles), but the speed takes a long time to recover.

My wife and I are doing the Big Fetch Mile in Cardiff on 3rd November, on which day I shall be 73. We'll both get PBs, however long we take to run the mile. Last month my wife celebrated her 70th birthday by running a 10-mile sponsored run for our grandson's Special School - not an official event but just something she wanted to do. She'd never run further than 7.5ml. before. It was mainly people from our chapel who sponsored her. Some people go out for a meal to celebrate their 70th - we're just different, and crazy!
