Well done Twinny,I have 15 tomorrow, 20-22 the weekend after, then it tails off .... still not sure if I should do this marathon. I know I can't do it fast as my foot still hurts, and another thread here has me thinking I am woefully un-prepared!

I guess only you can make the call whether to do the marathon Mrs B. But if you are managing 15 milers (even if slowly due to foot) then I guess you could amble along on the day and enjoy the experience??? Let us know how the 15 goes!!

Change of plan for me! I have to attempt 22 tomorrow as I won;t have time (due to childcare and work commitments) next weekend. I guess this will be the decider as to whether I do Abingdon or not. Hmm, trying to find a flattish route around here. Going to go out and aim to take it slow (10 minute mile pace) and see how I do. Pondering downloading an audio book to listen to.....

JUst under 22 miles in 3hrs 34 - so not fast, but I did it! Even with a nasty fall at 9.7 miles - was so busy avoiding nettles on an overgrown pavement that I missed the unevenness of the path itself and went over on my bad foot! Walked for a while and then upped the pace again and just put up with the pain. Was very glad of the torrential rain, because it meant that I could rationalise that I was running down hill, because that was the way the water was flowing, when my brain tried to tell me at 20 miles that I was going up hill! The 6" deep flooded bits of road I could have done without!
I guess this means I'll be doing Abingdon! Aiming for under 4.30 now (was around 4 before I hurt my foot in June), which seems realistic.
