Bob! Right! I'm going for it. I have a 10 mile PB from last year of 1.21.10, half of that time is 40.35. This is my softest PB I think. So I will be training to crack 40 minutes. 16/12 - I'm feeling good. I have 4 targets for this race 1/ Beat PB of 41.07 2/ Get a sub 40 3/ Beat Dicks time of 39.28 4/ hit 38.07, I've lost 18lbs in weight in the last 10 weeks. If the RW article saying each pound lost is equivalent to 2 seconds a mile is correct then I should run this race 180 seconds (3 minutes) better than by PB set when I was heavier. Of course, the weather could totally ruin my expectations! RACE REPORT - Really enjoyed the race, great marshalling and excellent conditions. A nice fast last mile (apart from the uphill into the Football Club) I finished in 38.23, which I guess proves the RW article right! I weighed in at 13st 2 this morning, a loss of 17lbs since my previous PB (17lbs x 5miles x 2secs per mile = 170 secs or 2 minutes 50), which means all other things being equal I should have finished in 38.17. Witham today was net uphill against an almost level start/finish at Great Langley. I think that accounts for the extra 6 seconds. Case proven m'lud! ALL 4 TARGETS MET I BELIEVE!

Mylo Fantastic weather - couldn't have asked for better particularly after yesterday. Very happy with 37.30 - a PB and much better than I hoped for. Well done to Witham RC for a really well organised and marshalled race.
