stato,rob ran the first mile too hard, all up hill in 5:50 . went through halfway in 30 mins but had a severe stitch for the last three miles. pb for ten miles though !

#runningman 🏃 Having been injured going into this race I am well pleased with this time. I had been treating my inflammed knee tendon all week in order to get fit ito compete, but when it became obvious that my knee would not be able to clear up for me to run competetively I decided to use the race as a training run for the London Marathon next year, and set myself the target of running 8-8.30 pace which is the pace I hope to do in London. It twas tempting when my knee felt ok at 5 miles to up the pace particularly as I am used to going much faster and would have expected around 1 hour 12 min had I been running competetively ,but by 7 and a half miles it started to get really sore again so I just kept going. My race time was 1 hr 22 min 13 secs but I found out it was not an accurate 10 mile course , my watch measured it at 10.2 miles. The time I have put as my actual time is what my watch said when it hit 10 miles. All in all another race under my belt and another medal for the collection. So worth it after all.

tiger-turnbull ran this one last year and was the start of my pb's coming down dramatically. Have run splits under 1hr18 training for a half marathon - this suggests that a time under that is possible. I ran this as good as I would have expected to and better again. weather was spot on and knowing the route from last year helped as with the final two miles being either flat or downhill made for a good time - great to beat my pb by some. will be running this one again next year for definate
