_j_ Legs felt tired today after a 16 miler training run yesteday eve. Soon got into it and pleased with my time, was quicker last year though!!

Ally2 After a good xc season it will be interesting to see how I fair back on the roads. I feel stronger and fitter. PB equalling on a much tougher course, although weather was ideal- warm and little wind. In a group of 4 at 4k whittled to 3 at 5k and then went into 5th at 6k until final 100m and got overtaken. had a stitch from 8k so was hanging in at the end. splits 1k: 3:10, 3k 9:41 5k 16:20, 7k: 22:56, 8k 26:29, 9K 29:59. Came 6th.

JovialGnome Did exactly an hour last year but am convinced the course was short-measured!! For some unknown reason I'm not as quick this year as I was last year so it would be VERY UNWISE to use your credits betting on me!! Accurately measured this year but who moved the damned finish? My blistering finishing burst fizzled out as I ran out of lungs and legs!! Reasonably happy that I'm heading in the right direction again!

Mountainmat I am going to aim for 6 minute mile pace, I may manage it, I may not. that would give me a time 37:17. Got a sore calf at 4.75 miles which slowed me down, still a 11 second PB, but I was 1 1/2 minutes under PB pace just before my calf started to hurt so I am rather dissapointed.
