Dave Maher 4 weeks before marathon, tired legs. Will go for it but if its warm/humid then won't.
Probably not a good idea to have a bet.

Forest Runner Very pleased with this result considering:

a) My back has been very bad and on Saturday morning I was not even able to reach my feet to put my shoes and socks on.

b) This is quite a challenging half marathon and once again it was rather warm.

c) I ran Wycombe half marathon last week and that was quite a tough one as well.

d) Once again my left hamstring was playing up along with my back.

I was going to be more than happy with anything under 1:40. Looks as if someone bet 100 credits on me, although I never saw an fmail. Unfortunately a pb was never on the cards, but I am hoping that I am shaping up nicely to do a pb later on in the year.

Hills of Death (HOD) No PB I feel A tough half - I may amaze on the day. But it will prob be hot and I know it has some tough hills so I'll be pleased with a sub 1.50. Don't bet unless your brave silly or a mixture of both :). UPDATE as I thought around the 1.50 pleased to finish training been carp last few weeks. Had cold - strain in stomach and lower calf started playing up half way. Could of done about 1.45 if I'd been fit. 1st Half 53.34 then struggled especially mile 9-10 10.30 min mile a hill me thinks. Saw Slug before the race and what I thought was Forest Runner but I think might of been Howard Stote !!!

What am I like ?

JackL Knew this would be a hard race. Friends at the club were expecting me to smash the previous half time (Southend) and I was sure that I would come around 1:45. The run proved better than expected (though noticed some were having trouble on the first hill) and I tried not to go after people that were looking strong.

Organisation wise Dartford was the best that I have seen so far, well done all that were involved :-)
