Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

But also: TTT culture varies a lot with clubs so Gobi may be more helpful about The Herd in particular.

Morning

Who are you riding with ? Have you looked at the power of the rest of your team?

The Herd put a lot of emphasis on keeping the team together so work hard to balance the squads

Doing your turn, it is not all about this, a lot of the time it is about balancing your expectation. There is no shame in hanging on if that is all you have.

The best tips I can give you are these:

1. Listen to your Captain
2. Don't over commit on effort by being too enthusiatic, there is no shame in not being able to do a turn

We did the final TTT of the ZRL last night. It's not like a real TTT you will get periods where you're not quite in the right spot but I'd say concentration is important if you want to avoid surging and stopping.

We normally have one or two that get dropped at some point and I am always happy to do extra/longer turns when others are struggling. All part of the team game.

Discord helps a lot except when our captain was struggling to talk last night!

We finished 11/16 in our league but most importantly beat the other Tri club.

OK, thanks all. Yes, I have Discord set up and have used it before.

Gobi, i'm riding with the Cheetahs. Yes, I've looked at the power of the rest of my team and I'm 7th of the 7 in that regard...

I'll just do my best then and see how I get on. Looking forward to it.

Big_G - as 7th you will not be expected to do huge turns, trust the skipper :¬)

Enjoy the experience

I'm guessing to take part in TTT it's pretty much essential that you are on a smart trainer so you get some feedback about when you're in the draft etc? I'm not looking to get involved, just curious! I know you can watch your avatar sit up when drafting, but I'm guessing the feedback in the resistance is a little more subtle than "on / off"?

I think it is mandatory for WTRL

I don't have a smart trainer, it's not essential at all. I have no difficulty.

I don't think it's mandatory and I don't see why it would be and how they could tell. I do recall seeing that written somewhere though.

For WTRL it says...
Every Rider must:
- Be registered on www.zwiftpower.com with accurate height and weight added.
- Add their team tag to their www.ZwiftPower.com -> Profile -> Settings -> Name
- Use a Power Meter (i.e. trainer or bike mounted) - no more than 40% of your teams riders can be power-meter-less/Z-power Riders.
- Heart Rate Monitors (HRMs) are advisable but not compulsory.

Fopp, do you have a way of measuring power though? If so, that's fine I think.

To answer the question on how they will know though, I'm presuming it's quite straightforward as ZwiftPower can automatically DQ people who are using ZPower (i.e, those don't have a way of measuring power). How it works technically I obviously don't know, but Zwift would know what kit a rider is using, and I'm presuming passes that to ZwiftPower, and they filter out those that don't have a way of measuring power. I've seen on YouTube people getting the "cone of shame" on occasion, and serious racers hate it as it can disrupt the races - i.e, if a person without a power meter is pulling hard on the front, it's almost like riding behind a motor bike for the rest of the riders and it messes up the tactics etc. Even though that rider would get DQd in the race results on ZwiftPower, it can ruin the race for the other riders. I'm not at that level obviously and it's just fun for me, but that's my understanding of the ZP disqualification code on ZwiftPower.
