First time pinning on a virtual number in a long time this evening. Pretty much where I expected (top end B) power wise, but wasn't pretty. Comfortably hard for about 10-15mins, but then HR started dropping and couldn't push pedals hard enough to get it back up. But it gives me something to work on. |

If anyone is wanting to tick off the Uber Pretzel who hasn't yet done so, ZwiftInsider is doing a group ride next Saturday at 2pm GMT. There are currently about 1300 signed up so it could be a good way to do the whole route in a group to help pass time time, help with drafting, and of course get those XP Details here: zwiftinsider.com

I was planning a four hour ride, how long would it take in a group assuming one was nearer the sharper end?

Fopp - I have done 4hrs 55 or so at about 190 watts but this included a sub 50 min alpe at the end . The first 2 hours or so are a drag as it is straight up EPIC and Radio into Jungle and then Volcano, don't get disheartened by how slow the steady pace is as the next 2 hours are rapid around the flat lands before you climb back up to the Jungle and a small mountain |

Ok, I can certainly do 200w for 4 hours after doing 3:30 at 209w last weekend. We will see about 5 hours as I don't have much endurance at the moment.

Gobi, I guess for me, the time around the flat lands would help being in a group all the time? This group ride is a "double draft", which I think is more realistic compared to the usual algorithm (that's just from reading some bits and pieces around what that actually means...it doesn't literally means double the normal draft, so the name was confusing to me initially). I am very tempted to do it - furthest I have done was 100k on Zwift on my own, and I am very tempted by this group ride. How do people think the Discord server would be with potentially so many riders on there? Would it be too distracting, I wonder? It's great for smaller groups with people I know, but how is it with potentially a few hundred on there? |
