If you pick the right bike some of the pricing can blow away other big brands. Ditto Decathlon. Equally both sell overpriced rubbish too. I used to spend a decent amount of time reading the forums on BikeRadar and time after time the go-to recommendations for a bikes in particular price points would include a Halfords brand (usually either Boardman or Voodoo) or a Decathlon bike (e.g. my red Triban 3 road bike).

We have picked up some good sale bargains there though.

It's had quite a few parts changed over the years - the only original part is the seat post (this includes replacing the frame but both were planet X frames!)
