The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.
Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?
Possibly the best running YouTube content at the moment?
Jamil Coury running up and down a short strava segment to try and win free Chipotle for a year. Competition finishes at the end of this month. I can’t remember which event it was now, but ‘Jam Jam’ was presenting on a live stream of an ultra a few years ago, and he was hilarious as he was basically falling asleep. He is pretty tongue in cheek about stuff.
Mark, a segment is basically a route that is recorded on strava and strava records the fastest runners on a leaderboard, and also the runners that have completed that segment the most times (‘Local Legend’). This Chipotle challenge will award the person who has done the segment the most times with free Chipotles for a year. In Jamil’s case it is a 300m long segment, which he has to run up as often as he can in the month of January. I think him and another guy have been banging 30 mile+ days on occasion, although the segment itself only counts in one direction.
He is actually a decent ultra runner. Done (not completed) Barkley a few times, and he knows a lot of the top ultra runners, who he interviews on occasion. He puts on a lot of ultra events in the US.
Free Chipotle. The hungriest wins. To be fair, I wonder if the other guy is using it for training for other events he’s got lined up. Plus the other guy did win it last year, and I guess he’s got the taste, so that’s his motivation.
“Popular running YouTuber Matt Fox has been arrested in Japan on drug importation charges.
Fox, whose channel Sweat Elite boasts 144,000 subscribers, allegedly tried to smuggle tablets containing THC - an active ingredient in marijuana - into Japan from the United States using an international courier service.”
