I thought I'd start this thread for people who like watch running YouTube - either occasionally or frequently, as is the case in this household.

So let's start by everyone mentioning a few of their favourite channels. For me it's FOD Runner (Andy Raynor), Ben is Running (Ben Felton) and Tim Grose (Tim Grose surprisingly) :-).

The idea is as the thread develops we can recommend channels to each other, or highlight a notable Vlog from a smaller channel. Anything running YouTube related really.

*NB I am half of TwoRunningBrooms. We decided to start our own channel back in 2022 after 20+ years of running and coaching. It has given a new lease of life in our running and led us to meet many lovely people - both channel followers and fellow `content creators' around the world.

I particularly like Allie Ostrander, US runner with superb entertainment and insights. Her partner Spencer Brown, Athlete Special is also good. I then also enjoy The Welsh Runner. These are road and track mainly and although I'm not really an off road racer I do enjoy watching Time on Feet for his story telling on ultras and and other trail/fell running.

Creating videos is good fun and adds to our memories. Some folk like watching and others not so but then some folk like track running and others not, so keep doing what you enjoy, eh. 😁

I made reference to the Running Brooms in the other thread @barnsleyrunner1970.

You are in fact younger than me 😂

The Mussile
Beau Miles is a great down to earth Aussie guy that running/adventure features in his videos

Billy Yang and the Ginger Runner can do awesome race videos but not so much recently.

I have got into Fergus Crawley vids recently who seems like a more genuine Mark Lewis (Funny guy but there is something I find a bit 'off' about him).

Ally - thanks for the thumbs-up. Yes we try and keep content regular as we prefer the channels where you get a consistent narrative rather than occasional updates.

Big_G - we've just started following Rory. Good to see an elite runner's training and lifestyle.

The Mussile - thanks for the suggestions. Will check those out.

For something different to the usual road / off-road running, Joe Ferguson's is a brilliant channel. One of the best 200m runners in the UK, lovely engaging manner and well-produced.

There was a bit of controversy about Matt Choi at NYC Marathon as he was disqualified, removed from the race results, and banned from any future NYRR events.

Basically, he had a couple of unauthorised eBikes filming him on the course, with reports of them getting in the way at aid stations, clipping people, and generally being a PITA. The rules clearly state no unauthorised bikes allowed, and probably he broke other rules as well.

He was there with running brand Runna, and ran with one of them to a sub-3, but Runna claim they didn’t know he was going to bring his own film crew, as they had their own authorised photographers on the course. Runna have since dropped Matt Choi.

In the small world of marathoning and running influencers, it’s caused a bit of a scandal.

My own take is that I’m glad he’s been DQ’d. But I guess from his perspective there is no such thing as bad publicity!

Got something to say?
