Yesterday with four rowers and one cox we took part in a 7 mile gig race. I have aquired weirdest sunburn, a very crampy pair of bottom cheeks and some splendid blisters on my right hand from the oar

It was the equivalent of the first sections of Yorky on water šŸ˜‚

All of us were like ā€œwhat the actual F are we doing this is vileā€ and at the end?

That was awesome when can we do it again! šŸ˜‚

Iā€™m having that as my long run this week. In the chop and tide it was a beast of a race

Hope you all had a good weekend in the sun!

Some great work in the boat, FRU

And well done on the run, Coachie.

I'm back on it. Usual 4 mile loop done nice and easy. I'm actually contemplating a fell race on Wednesday.

Nice work all of you! Nice pics too!!!

Iā€™m hoping the fitness will get back into my run legs soon. It really helps having years of run experience on the races cos you have to use same head. Yesterday was really tough

Do it XB. Iā€™d love a fell run. Am hopeful to start off road here again this week

I know you are all doing amazing training

Northern enjoy that sunny week! And nice one on a sunny run! Happy birthday

DT the carb loading looked amazing! Also happy birthday

XB park run sounded like a winner!!!

Iā€™m feeling like I have a base but that the base needs stretching. We are away this weekend. A total hide out. In a place thatā€™s about 40mins from ours. Itā€™s been amazing. Weā€™ve done very little except sleep, mimble around the village and the marshes and relax. Just what was needed after being a bit frazzled

Next week my plan is to start going up in miles. And make a plan

The weekend threw a challenge my way with a need to run and a row race. Interesting day! I managed to use the pre race trundle as a decent warm up and then the 5 mile row race which was gritty to say the least. We didnā€™t do well as we had limited crew available and those in the boat were mis matched. Interesting to see how that really impacts things where one side is much stronger than the other. But. We turned up and we completed it with every bit of energy in a non stop 1:10 time and race pace all of that. Iā€™m proud to have completed it. The team not so proud which makes me sad. I think you have to be in these things. And you have to hold your head high at completing!

Which brings me nicely onto Yorky

Iā€™ve been building a daily run again so have spent time concentrating on that. Itā€™s been an eye opener. However this week my aim is to do at least two runs where I can work upwards to 3 and then think about long runs going up to 6/7 miles. I have a good off road loop I can do, that I can ā€œcompleteā€. Mixing run/stomp is the best way to do that

In mind of Swittle the not a streak hit 100 days and Iā€™m at least feeling that I can do that. The saver route also is half mile up and hill and then half mile back down. I keep thinking about the start of Yorky!

Northern blinding result completing Ilkley well done you!!!! ā¤ļø

Howā€™s everyone else doing

About This Thread

Maintained by FRU (KeepTheFaith)
Iā€™m glad to know we have some of the previous runners back for this event this yet and of course mine and Northerns annual pilgrimage and meet with those of you who are coming along. Be great to see all of you. New and old faces.

There will be a very special reason to attend this year and do a start mile and end mile with Swittle in mind

Derby Tup, Northern and I plus XB and Kev Scone all want to do a something for Swittle

Last year we invented the ā€œRascalsā€ named after Howarth fat rascals and also used by Swittle with his ā€œaround the rugged moors the ragged rascals ranā€
