As soon as we start collecting the crockery off the table at the end of a meal Floss high-tails it to stand by the dishwasher
We use a sharp-toned 'Leave It!' and I think initially we reinforced it with physically removing her from whatever it was (this was while she was still small enough to do that.) You have to be one step ahead all the time with puppies though

Aaaargh! What a bloody day. Our wonderful perfectly lovely dog has turned into a holy terror today. He's sleeping less, has tried to run away, has piddled in the house more than outside, is chewing/stealing everything he can get his gnashers on, getting up at the crack of dawn.
Basically he really needs to be out and about exploring the world and expending energy but we can't go out properly until Tuesday. We don't have a safe enclosed garden which is really desperately needed. We will spend a decent amount of time at my friend's house tomorrow so he can be out running about safely.
I am shattered and that is not helping!

Oh dear HP, just a short term blip I'm sure. A tired puppy is a good puppy, so roll on Tuesday!

We play with him and do some training but it's obviously not been quite enough today. He has conked out on the sofa but I will be waking him at 9 so he has some awake time before I send him to bed. Roll on Tuesday.

Is Tuesday the end of his inoculation quarantine HP?
Have you no garden - or just nor a secure one? If it's the latter can he not go for trot abouts on a lead?
At least he's tired now!

We don't have a garden. There is a space out back of house we are using but he hates being on the lead out there because he's been out there without up until now and we are stopping him doing what he wants i.e exploring. I need a good sleep and a rethink in the morning.

On the plus side I just put him to bed as he was so tired and he didn't make any fuss.
