Echoes D2's comment - puppy classes are brill and became a great social event for both puppy and owner I don't think you need to worry about doing it wrong, sounds like you're doing just fine to me!

Liver cake is the answer for training! It is so smelly and was the only thing that Leah was interested in enough to do what she was told when she was little. There are recipes on the internet.

In other news, Leah is beginning to really struggle to stand up . Once she is up she can potter about and likes a short walk once every two or three days. Her ability to eat the cat food as soon as we go to bed is unaffected!

Sorry to hear Leah is struggling, but glad she still likes catfood.

Yes poor Leah, hope she isn't suffering. In fact I'm sure you wouldn't let that happen. Sad.
Awww to the short walk every two or three days.

Poor Leah - it's sad when old age really catches up with them.

Poor Leah. How old is she? I will hunt for recipes tomorrow.
Another gold star day for Ernie. Friends arrived and he was calm and welcoming. Coped with the busy dinner time hubbub before going totally bonkers, then flaking out. Went to bed without so much as a peep.

Well done Ernie.
Jet was like a puppy last night - full of pent-up energy. No walk (poorly paw day 3) and he had energy to spare so was mouthing me - something he normally doesn't do. Today he asked to go out in the garden so many times, racing and jumping around his race track that in the end I suggested to Mr that he took Jet for a proper walk on grass. Both now back and no ill effects from either.
Jet had grazed/sliced a patch of skin off the side of one of his paw pads, probably on the flint/chalk Ridgeway. It was red three days ago, then pink, white yesterday and pale grey today. He's stopped fussing about it, so I hope that's all that was wrong.
If he still looks fine this evening we'll go to agility for the first time in a month.
