Huge difference between Dogwarts* - £24.00 per night. That's the closest and they like Jess (have stopped taking any other GSDs!)
...and Centerbarcs*, further away and much more deluxe. They charge about £35 a day - which works out very dear for just one overnight stay. Less so for a longer stay, obvs. Jess loves it there (she bloody well should!) but as she's happy at Dogwarts we do try there first.

We paid £20 for years and Tuss loved staying with his pals. Mind, he was allowed special privileges like access to human only areas. A local couple have his very occasionally now but it's £40. That includes collection and drop off

We rarely use kennels so can't say for sure but in fact are trying to find a kennel to take Wanda for one day on Sunday. Will update when I hear back from them.
Incidentally, Wanda has just been on Channel 5 news. They were doing a report about XL Bullies and muzzle training and interviewed the trainer whose classes we used to go to. She has tiny dogs so although hers are muzzle trained they wanted something a bit bigger to film. Wanda's (and my) appearance was brief and I don't think any canine acting agents are likely to come calling as a result!

Sounds fun Baroness! Son1 now muzzles Freya in public and meeting new family dogs for the first time. It really has helped with her stress reactivity - she is calmer and as a result son1 and his OH are calmer too. She's never going to be a laid back dog but this has been a step forward for them all.

I wish we could muzzle Biscuit. Last time we did, he became so aggressive whenever we tried to take it off that he wore it for 24 hours before I finally managed to get it off him. We've been giving treats in it for ages, but he's still having none of it.

Have you tried teaching him 'hide face' Carp. Holding one of those little halloween trick or treat buckets sideways and asking him for 'hide face' so he gets used to putting his head in something on command. That can sometimes be a good first step to following up with muzzle training as the thing in which to 'hide face' gets smaller. It might take time and you probably wouldn't be able to do the muzzle up for a little while but it might give him something to learn and be praised for without first associating it with the muzzle?

Thanks for kennel price recommendations. I'm almost tempted to ask if £72 for an overnight stay is a typo - it was £54 for peak times last year. Needless to say we're visiting an alternative at the weekend who are £31.50 for small dog and £35 for a large with a discount if they board together. (Dogwarts and CenterBarcs )

Crikey, you can get human overnight boarding for less than that.
