We came down this morning to find some mince pies missing from a box brought by son2 on Christmas Day. It was a box of 6 but at least some had been eaten by humans so we don't know how many were left. Chief suspect is Polly Labrador but none of the three dogs seem at all unwell so we're just doing watchful waiting. At least twelve hours on since the pies were eaten, we think we've got away with it.

Oh Wanda! I hope she’s feeling ok.
We woke this morning to a small pile of dog vomit - more bile than anything else. Oh, apart from 9 Lindt chocolate ball wrappers, from the box Charlie scoffed when he broke into the study nearly 2 weeks ago. He has shown no after affects of eating them - appetite normal, toileting normal (although we’ve been looking for passed wrappers with no success), just his usual goofy self. Goodness knows where they’ve been lodged all this time.

Our pups do keep us on our toes doesn't they. I hope all the mince pie scoffers are unharmed. I'm relieved Charlie waited until your recent special visitors had left the building before discharging the wrappers :)

In our discussions about whether to go to the vet or not this evening I recalled Flossie's previous exploits with dried fruit - but we've done so much this year to give Wanda the best possible chance of a healthy old age that had this caused her a serious problem we would have never forgiven ourselves. And it helped considerably when I looked on their website and discovered they were open on 'regular' hours until 8pm!

Yes I don't blame you being careful Baroness. I think any of the three dogs currently under our roof have sufficiently robust constitutions to cope with maybe three mince pies but had it been more I would have been much more concerned.

We are lucky that Stanley doesn't (as yet) show food snatching tendencies, thank goodness. He has a penchant for socks and furry slippers and he often runs off with these, but no eating involved.

Hello doggy owners - out of interest, how much are people paying for boarding per dog per night? I've just looked at our normal place and they have put their prices up again. Would be handy to establish a going rate if folks are happy to share? Cheers!

Ours varies depending on the time of year. Off peak it’s around £20/night, can be up to nearer £50 at really popular times.
