Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Ah but it's a whole different experience taking part in a parkrun with a dog (well I suppose it depends on the dog....)

After a couple of attempts to run with Ernie I realised we were nowhere near ready. He loved it but got excited which does not make for an obedient Ernie. We will get there.

Helegant I hope you didn't have to carry Jet too far. The only flat out refusal we've had was on a wooden slatted bridge over a river - I had to carry the silly bugger over and it felt a long way.

Baroness gave the advice I would have re: checking the last finisher times. It's generally about 50 minutes for us.

I never carry Jet very far because he weighs 9kg and is not the easiest shape to carry.

It's rare, and only happens when he gets over-heated, or when, as yesterday, I push him to do more than he's used to / comfortable with.

9kg - he must be a very svelte thing Helegant. Wanda weighs 20kg (and the rest!) I can just about manage to lift her over a stile if there isn't a dog gate in it :-)

Our Springer Ollie is 21kg which we're trying to get down to 18 or 19. This is not helped by the fact that Frankie our young shihtzu terrier cross tends to eat his meals in shifts allowing Ollie to jump in and help him out if we're not alert...

Jess is on the slender side of perfect according to our vet ...but she still weighs over 30kg and insists on being lifted into the car. She loves it!
