Oh that's a good idea Sarah - when I get back to running I was thinking tail-runner might be a good place to start, and Flossie enjoyed marshalling when I took her (I was amazed at how many runners stopped to say hello to her :-)) so dog-tail-running would be good.

Wanda and I ran with the Christmas Day tail runner (who was a work colleague of mine) and it got me thinking that I should offer to do that role sometimes. Wanda always starts parkrun in her muzzle though so anyone at the back who sees me take the muzzle off after the first half mile might end up speeding up to a PB too

It would almost certainly involve no running for me as we have several women who walk the whole way - as fast as they can, but they're not up to running much if at all yet.

Jet was excellent at Parkrun. We were at the back so no problem for anyone, and I also kept to one side to make overtaking easier (it's a laps course). I kept Jet on a short lead and he ran alongside me. We then gained a six-year-old boy and his mother - the boy likes dogs and Jet then ran alongside the boy for the whole event, and allowed himself to be stroked at the end. There was another dog called Maisie who ran in front of us for a while and the boy said he'd run with Maisie last week. It appears that dogs are genuinely welcome at Watford.

I wonder if I could do a run walk with Jess? We could do it in 38-39 mins. Is that too slow?

Realise I have no idea about parkrun times. Assume a slow walker could take 40 mins- or more?

I take 40 minutes running and a bit less if run/walk, and I'm nowhere near last. Jet just trots along slowly beside me.

I think at most parkruns finishing in 50+ minutes is quite usual for those at the back. If you are thinking of doing one Sharkie, take a look at the results page for that event and see what sort of time the final runners come in at I am sure you wouldn't be last anyway.
We have a chap at Ipswich who is well into his 80s who takes part most weeks and usually keeps the tail runner company.

When I last ran a 5k I was targetting sub 25, so it's a bit different!
