But it wouldn't have affected overall outcome (lost!) and probably would;t have made much difference to my total squares either.

These days they do guided tours but they've obviously left the signage behind. It was a little less forbidding a couple of hours later with a timing tent, a finish funnel dishing out goodies and a good few folk milling about but still impressive.
