Although top of the leader board in the Multiverse most of this week, next week I’ll be grid moving on Weds to Croatia that will limit opportunities for a wide grid spread. However it will open the opportunity of a swim. However my Garmin 645 doesn’t record GPS for swims, nor have an Open Swim option. My wife SooWoo suggests logging swims as a run, then changing it on Fetch for the game. I searched the forums and seen posts about GarminIQ having an Open Swim App, but not sure whether the App will pass the info to Fetch to score in the Games. Anybody have any experience of using a GarminIQ Swim App that feeds into Fetch and uses GPS (GNSS to be exact because I’m the ex Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA) Surveillance Specialist) to record the track. Thank you.

Don't know about swims - but I do have to log my walks using a ConnectIQ App and that transfers fine. Obviously not a guarantee - all Apps are different - but maybe cause for some optimistic hope?

Thanks ITG 🇮🇸 it's been a nip and tuck week, but a long slow hilly one did the trick. That's reminded me to double check I'm out this week, tapering for NDW50 next week. So maybe I should call that two weeks off ... |

FatRayToSlim I have vivoactive with open water swim app. App is a bit rubbish (hard to stop/pause) but it works for WSW and conquersize. |

Thank you CumbriAndy and ITG 🇮🇸. As an update I’ll simply log the swims as a run (or walk) on my Garmin 645 Music, than once uploaded, go into the Fetch Training Log, then change the training category from the drop down to Open Water Swimming. This category was not there initially, so had to go into my Fetch account and add the category from the tick box selection menu. There appears to be a delay conducting an exercise before WSW is updated. Hopefully enough time to make the category change. My only concern is reported GPS detection/accuracy problems when swimming...some advocating putting the watch in a float bag...or one lady tied her watch to he bobble on her head....but my hair is too short for this!

No Lycra Allowed (Jase)
Folks down here put their Garmin inside of their swimming cap, works well tho I only wear a cap when swimming in winter (which I haven't done for a couple of years)
