Go to any of the game pages and follow the link in the green banner at the top Can't say the prospect particularly bothers me one way or the other (if it came up as a feature request, it would be a definite 'Meh') - but if it works for others then it's a good thing |

It might give enthusiastic lower-ranked players an opportunity to climb the ladder more quickly if they can take down someone with a good ranking.

I'm on my fifth week. I think it is compulsive enough without additional incentives to be out training at every opportunity. I was already at relatively high mileage for an oldie and it is creeping up further due to my joining WSW. Secondly, I think the training in tactics and strategy as you work up the ranks is good. Thirdly, while low down one can still afford to let the pressure off with a day or two off-grid and relaxation. Fourthly, seen over months, I think there is a risk of burn-out or over-training as the competitive side of visiting lots of squares is emphasized, at the expensed of more measured training, with cut-back days, weeks and cycles. People can be tempted to do things in the short term that is not in their interest in the long term.

No criticism intended Fetch - as you say, if it helps others then that's a good thing in my view. My comment, if anything, is probably more a reflection on my own current relationship with the game. I've enjoyed it for some time - and have done well enough to hold down a top ten ranking for a while - but the drive to be competitive week in/week out is starting to feel, at times, more of a burden than a simple game should be. It's probably time for me to take a break for a week or two and see how I feel going forward. |

So if I was feeling really brave I it’s need to challenge someone up the top of the table to a game, ha I’m a big chicken, I’m just going to keep climbing the old fashioned way!

Hmm, so do we actually know for a fact that challenging someone higher up the board could increase your rank more than just winning your ordinary 1v1? Or is this just speculation? I'm not even sure I'd need to. I don't totally understand the scoring but I suspect I just need to keep winning my 1v1s to make it in to the top 128 by the time the next multimatch starts. |

CC2, I was just pondering a similar thing🤔 What would be better for my points, winning my challenger who’s lower down the league or beating the guys above (or near) me? |
