Witney parkrun share a playing field with a juniors football club. This is the first time I’ve seen this sign. I hope that it has an impact on those to whom it aimed. |

That sign has been common at kids and youth football for years. Unfortunately, not everyone reads, comprehends, and remembers.

Another thing they do is have “silent weekends” where coaches, parents, and other spectators are not supposed to coach or give any verbal instructions, only to clap and cheer good things. I found this almost impossible to follow when coaching.

They are quite strict in Iceland, Dio, or at least try to be. Parents also police each other a bit. There was a lot of outcry in the national news one year when one teams' parents (of 10-11yo) were totally overdoing it and even shouting abuse at opposing players. |

Today was my first sub-30 parkrun for 13 months. It is only the second time that I have not had walking breaks (or more often, running breaks).

I ran for 60 minutes without a walk break, can't remember the last time I did that (actually it made my eyes leak a little) |
