It's one of these new-fangled keyless jobs. We've been clicking the remote when we're supposed to touch a pad on the door handle. Old people, eh?

I'd only driven my old beat-up micra previously, and the brand new 100-miles-on-the-clock car I was given for the weekend had keyless start. I couldn't figure out how to turn the engine on even as I pressed the "on" button - I didn't realise you also had to depress the clutch whilst pressing the button to make it start. Gave the guys at the hire place a laugh watching my panic and confusion and I had to wave one of them over to ask how to turn the engine on to much embarrassment!]

I kept trying and finding myself in first and getting nearer and nearer to the wall. Eventually I had to ask and felt very stupid when the salesman showed me the collar you had to pull up to get it into reverse gear
