Opened our bedroom window wide to clean it. It’s split horizontally with the bottom half fixed. Cleaned it then couldn’t get it to close again. Had to hang right out of the window to get enough leverage to swing it back in. Startled a few passing motorists.

The team installing our air to air ashp system drilled through the ring main this morning which delayed them such that they'll finish on Thursday not Wednesday. As I had to drain down the gas central heating system they're replacing on Monday (to remove a radiator and pipework that blocked where their trunking was to go) we will now be without heating for an extra day. Our 2kW fan heater is doing overtime.

Son's car is playing up this morning. Mrs D WhatsApping me to tell me. I'm 20 miles away. She's had to take him to the station so that he can get the train to college. The cats woke us up fighting at 5:15 this morning, at which time Mrs D told me she'd been awake since three.

Oh, and I made a sandwich with parmesan cheese this morning - someone had left a small lump of it unwrapped in the cheese box and I thought it was the end of the cheddar.

Shut the back gate thinking C had the keys (he was doing something at the back of the car). Turned out he was unloading his golf stuff and his keys were in the door of the shed, which was now behind the locked 7ft gate. Had to stand on the big black bin so that I could climb over and unlock it.
