I’m not sure when that would have been because he started his career with Palace when they were on the old div 2 and therefore would have only come in at the 3rd round. I think Vardy is unique.

Quite right Dio, he did play in qualifying rounds as a non league player, which was why they compared him to Vardy. Wasn't paying full attention.

[I used to work with someone who ran a korfball team; turned out for it once for a tournament when he couldn't find a full team of people who could actually play. Picked up a couple of penalties for breaking rules I had no idea existed but also scored in the only game we won all day. Still have the pennant somewhere.]
