That parkrun milestone T-shirts were free (and will be until September).

[Who thought that would be a good business model?! I suppose it draws the punters in though.]

[250,000 a year is a lot of t-shirts, not all of which will get much wear. They say £15 will cover costs and not generate profit]

Won't be getting my 50 t shirt then probably. Need 8 more.

Plan was to get them by last may.

Obviously that did not happen.

Can't see parkrun starting again before June (no matter how ****special**** it is)

So don't think there will be enough time to get there and get them to recognise it and send a t-shirt before sept.

I just don't see how they can suddenly start charging which creates inequity.

The whole point of the sponsorship was to cover those costs.

I wonder what salary costs are these days for them.

I think that the whole point of sponsorship is to cover operationing costs, which include wages. T-shirts have historically been included in these costs, but i think its an enormous stretch to count them as a core component.

The number of people who qualify for shirts, although ever growing, is actually a pretty small number of those who have ever participated. If more people had stuck in, parkrun might well have had to make that decision years ago.

Parkrun isn't being "special" fozzy, it's aiming to start in England in June.

There's a thread for this kind of discussion and the vast majority of people there and on the equivalent Facebook pages are happy to pay for a shirt.
