Hills of Death (HOD)
That from one side of Australia to other (Perth to Gold Coast) is a lot further than say London to Moscow

My Grandma had a wotnot.

If you were deemed as being nosey asking what something was is she’d say they were a “wigwam to wind up the sun” or “layo’ers for meddlers”. Since the furniture was a wotnot I didn’t question these other things for years!!

Working from home will be permanent in my current role. Still with the odd trip to some of our businesses.

Aha! Rebar is what people fall and impale themselves on in US crime dramas, yes?

[it's entirely possible it has other uses, but that and sticking out of the top of Greek houses as a tax dodge are the only two I know of]

I believe Rebar is the generic term for metal reinforcement of a surrounding solid material - I think it just means Reinforcing bar

en.wikipedia.org

But yes, typically it's often a short-hand for steel bar reinforced concrete that is often used as construction material.

It's the reason why skyscrapers can be as tall as they are. Concrete on it's own would not work.
